Cynical doctor Amamiya (Noboru Ando) stayed removed from his neighborhood's tensions between Yakuza and ethnic Korean gangs. That was until he recognized a dying Korean thug brought to his office-and the physician reflected on the hood's role in his life dating back to wartime, in Tai Kato's singular crime story "By a Man's Face Shall You Know Him" (1966).
